I have had a great experience being a patient at SoCal Breathe Free Sinus and Allergy Center San Diego. The PA staff is impressive and knowledgable, and were able to offer clinical opinions about my chronic sinusitis. Dr. Paul Schalch Lepe was clearly a skilled and capable technician- the balloon sinuplasty was quick and I left with clear instructions for the aftercare and follow up. Had a pretty bad experience here, and I suggest folks at least look elsewhere for a few minutes before deciding to get their care here. I went here twice for a sore throat that had been lingering for over a month by the time of my first appointment. They looked at it both times and said "does not look like an infection" without even ordering a throat culture (but they went ahead and did a 3D scan of my sinuses before I even sat down for my first appt for some reason). I had a tonsillectomy performed by Dr. Schalch last year in July, 2024. It was the best thing I could have done. I have healed super well and it wasn’t as painful as I would have imagined. I saw Dr. Schalch for 2 years in his clinic and at UCSD. I was always treated super well by his staff and felt heard about my concerns. Before surgery, I was treated prior with laser treatments to reduce my tonsils and begin with minimally invasive methods. Wow! The BEST medical office and staff I've ever been to. First, started off on ZocDoc to match my insurance and location then was able to schedule the next day (only 12 hours later) at a time best for me as I had an urgent issue to deal with that Urgent Care and Emergency Room couldn't take care of. This was all at 10pm online! Everything confirmed via email then a follow up voice mail. Called the office at 8am and the staff helped me get an online account and have the forms completed.
